US July inflation numbers again came in better than expected. Hopefully UK numbers due on Thursday will do likewise.

European gas prices jumped 40 per cent on Wednesday due to threat of strike action by Australian LNG workers. It demonstrated just how tight the global gas supply market is.

Last week’s trades, news, and ex-dividends

SDI Groups published results for the year ended 30th April 2023. Glencore published H1 results including an increased buyback of $1.2bn and dividend of $1bn or 8 US cents per share.

I sold SDI Group. I hope to re-enter at some stage but in the meantime, I think there are better opportunities for my capital. I added to existing positions in Next Energy Solar Fund, Sylvania Platinum, Hargreaves Lansdown, and IG Group.

No ex-dividends last week.

Upcoming Events and ex-dividends

The only scheduled news I can see next week concerning my holdings is Next Energy Solar Fund’s AGM on Wednesday.

On Thursday, Niox goes ex dividend 2.5p per share and on Friday, Next Energy Solar Fund goes ex 2.08p and Shoe Zone dividend is paid on Wednesday.
